Judge – Sue Bird (Bridus)

I would like to thank the committee for the opportunity to judge at the Club Open Show and to my super stewards Ruth and Martin who kept the ring moving smoothly and to the exhibitors who entered.

All temperaments were superb, all mouths correct with lovely clean teeth and all pigmentation was very good.

Veteran Dog & Bitch

1st Mycroft;  Sant Kreal Jewel For Supeta; 8 year old bitch, not showing her age here still has plenty of muscle tone. Feminine head, moderately deep set eyes, neck fitting well into shoulders, chest reaching elbows, moderate tuck up, well-muscled hindquarters with well bent stifles, would have preferred slightly tighter feet but she won this class on her free vigorous movement. BVIS

2nd Fitter; Teuschon Sir Hermes; 10 year old male. Preferred his head planes to first, but not quite the shoulder angulation as first, chest deep and reaching elbows, slight tuck up, well bent stifle with firm hock, not quite as free as 1st on move.

Baby Puppy Dog or Bitch

1st Brough; Aniiraz Ajax The Greater; almost 6 month old, head developing well, ears set on high, dark almond shaped eyes, slight stop, neck fitting well into shoulders, nice length of rib with moderate tuck up, well bent stifle, hocks firm, once settled moved freely.

Minor Puppy Dog

1st Ingram, Ingram & Lack; Jojavik Assassin Code; 6 months old, head in proportion to body, skull flat, slight stop, dark moderately deep set eye, ears set high, muscular neck, well angulated shoulders with fore chest, well boned legs, tight feet, ribs well sprung, well developed hindquarters, firm hocks, once he settled into himself he moved out with drive, BPD & BPIS

2nd Hemmings, Hemmings, Hickling & Hickling; Evalesco’s Shade Of Class; 9 months, pleasing head planes, moderate arch to neck, preferred first’s more open shoulders, ribs well sprung, good tuck up, firm bac , well developed upper thigh but I’d prefer little more bend stifle, but still developing, legs parallel both front and rear, tight well arched feet, easy fluid movement once settled.

Puppy Dog

1st Hemmings, Hemmings, Hickling & Hickling; Evalesco’s Shade Of Class; second in last class, more settled here and moved with reach and drive.

Junior Dog

1st De Haaff; Krieger’s Limelight; 15 month old elegant muscular dog, elongated blunt wedge shaped head, high set ears lying close to cheeks, dark almond eyes, full dentition, muscular neck, well placed shoulders with good fore chest, deep chest, well sprung ribs, firm top line, well developed hindquarters, good bend stifle with firm hock, lovely reach and drive. Pushed RBD hard in challenge.

2nd Cannon; Sacaria’s Blues; 16 month muscular dog, just not quite the front angulation of first, so not as free on the move.

Graduate Dog

1st Bodfield; Grafmax Aladdin Sane; 19 months and maturing well, my notes say proud, elegant and masculine, elongated wedge shaped head, moderately deep set eyes, ears set high and lying close to cheeks, nice arch of neck, well angulated shoulders, good amount of fore chest, chest deep and reaching elbows, legs parallel with well-padded feet, lovely tuck up with firm loin, good rear angulation, well developed second thigh with well bent stifle, hocks perpendicular to ground, lovely easy ground covering movement and he made it look effortless. BD & in challenge against the bitch he had that lovely reach in forequarters and drive in hindquarters, BIS.

2nd Cannon; Sacaria’s Blues; second last class.

Post Graduate Dog

1st Brannan & Mycroft; Supetas Boys Are Back In Town JW; masculine 19 month old boy, lovely profile, head in proportion to body, skull flat, slight stop, high set ears, muscular arched neck, good lay back of shoulder, enough fore chest, well sprung ribs well boned legs with padded feet, back firm, muscular well developed hindquarters with well bent stifle, won this class on his forward reach and strong rear drive.

2nd Marles; Amazon All My Loving At Selramax; just coming up to 2, not quite as mature as first, but overall shape and movement is all there, just needs time to mature and fill out.

Limit Dog

1st Blackburn; Knecht Little Richard JW ShCEx OSW; 3 year old, lovely overall shape, proud head with nice dark eyes, well placed ears, stop might be a little deep, muscular neck, shoulders well placed, chest deep and elbows lying close to brisket, well sprung rib, well developed hindquarters that were well-muscled. Lovely easy action on the move.

Open Dog

This was a lovely class and any of them could have swapped places on the day.

1st Massey & McGeoch; Manzart Zebedee JW ShCM OSW; 3.5 year old mature dog, not quite the substance as second but  he had a super outline and looked like he could move all day without tiring. Blunt wedge shaped head, moderately deep set eyes, lovely ear placement, moderate arch of neck, well angulated shoulders, super fore chest, well sprung ribs, legs well boned and parallel with well arched feet, firm well-muscled hindquarters with defined second thigh, well bent stifle and firm hock, pushed the younger dog hard in challenge, RBD.

2nd Hunt & Flitcroft; Ch Tuwos Mr Majestic Vonsallate; 4 year old who is very similar to first so all comments could relate to him as well and I really was splitting hairs, slightly more solid in build, and I just preferred first’s more effortless movement.

3rd Webb & Mullin’s; Multi Ch Protocol’s The Midas Touch (Imp USA) JW.

Minor Puppy Bitch

1st Webb; Shalissa Into The Shallow; 8 month old very feminine, pleasing head and neck, chest just needs to drop slightly, well sprung ribs, good bone and tight feet, firm top line, good rear angulation with firm hocks. Very steady mover which won her this class. BPB RBPIS

2nd Ingram, Ingram & Lack; Jojavik Bera Brawnyboots; litter sister to the minor puppy dog, similar shape to him just not as settled.

Puppy Bitch

1st Moore; Elmorell Ready For It; 10 month old, lovely profile, balanced fore and aft on move, skull flat with slight stop, dark eyes, well placed ear lying close to cheeks, good arch of neck, good lay back of shoulder, enough fore chest for age and chest, just needs to drop a little, ribs well sprung with firm level top line held on move. Nicely muscled hindquarters with good bend of stifle. Won this class for her easy flowing movement.

2nd Robinson; Korifey Matchy Matchy; 9 month old, slightly finer than winner and at this stage slightly longer on leg, just need time to grow into herself, but moved with confidence

Junior Bitch

1st Stracey; Krieger’s Mirror Image; this young bitch of 14 months didn’t put a foot wrong, she was elegant and muscular, blunt wedge shaped head with flat skull, ears set high darkest eye I saw in a brown all day, lovely deep muzzle, moderate arch of neck, with shoulder and upper arm equal, well sprung ribs with chest reaching elbows, good tuck up, well developed hindquarters with good second thigh, good bone and well arched feet, well bent stifle with firm hocks, on the move she was powerful with good forward reach, in challenge just couldn’t be over looked, BB & BOS

2nd Moss; Amazon Fever; another youngster just out of puppy, similar comments to first but just felt she didn’t move out quite so freely.

3rd Hutchinson; Supeta’s Debison’s Allure;

Graduate Bitch

1st Pollard; Shalissa’s Hot Toddy At Whizzbean JW; This bitch just had the edge in this class on movement, would have preferred a slightly better eye shape but pleasing head and neck, shoulders well laid back, well sprung ribs but chest just needs to drop slightly, firm top line held on move and good rear angulation

2nd Nicol; Supeta’s Black Rose At Evnjays; just didn’t settle, nice head and eyes, soft expression, shoulders of good length, firm body with good rear angulation, just didn’t move today.

Post Graduate Bitch

1st Brannan, Mycroft & Brough; Supeta’s Playing With Fire Avec Aniiraz; feminine wedge head, high set ears, almond eyes, nicely arched neck, shoulder and upper arm equal in length, chest deep with well sprung ribs, legs parallel would have liked slightly more bone, but had enough, well-padded feet, hindquarters well-muscled which showed in her movement and won her this class.

2nd Caldicott; Aritaur Cirilla With Philmont JW; just over 2 year old and really liked her overall shape good head and neck, lovely lay back of shoulder, ribs well sprung with super tuck up, very well-muscled hindquarters with good bone, just didn’t move at her best.

3rd Moss; Amazon Fever

Open Bitch

1st Mycroft; Imidz Lady Melody Of Supeta (Imp LVA) JW; 2 year old, in profile absolutely lovely bitch, feminine wedge shaped head, correct eye shape well placed ears, nice strength of muzzle, muscular neck, well laid shoulders with nice fore chest, ribs well sprung with firm back and top line, well-muscled hindquarters with good rear angulation and firm hock, if I was being ultra-picky I’d like slightly tighter feet, but that’s my preference, moved out steady and effortlessly. RBB

2nd Robinson; Lux/Bel Ch Vivat De Vinko Vendetta For Korifey (Imp RUS) another quality bitch with super profile, well made and pushed first hard, just not the easy movement of first.

3rd Webb; Swiss/Rom/ BIH/FED BIH Ch Rom/BIH GCH Shalissa’s Perfect Blend;
